Even the most confident celebrities have had a moment or two of self-doubt. When Lil Wayne was 12 years old, he wanted to be a rapper so bad; he could not bear the thought of his mom saying no.
Dwayne Carter Jr., better known as Lil Wayne, was just ten years old when he struggled with his mental health. When he was 12 and struggling with the thought of not living his dream, he decided he was going to shoot himself.
โWhen you have no one to vent to, no one to get this out to, you canโt bring it to your friends at school because youโre still trying to be cool to them. Youโre not tryna let them know, โI got something going on at home.โโ
Lil Wayne
Lil Wayne revealed his struggles to Emmanuel Acho during an interview on "Uncomfortable Conversations." So, 12-year-old Lil Wayne took it upon himself to put a gun to his head.
However, he changed his mind and aimed for the heart. He had enough wherewithal to dial 911 first.
Police Arrival
Officer Hoobler arrived at his home with other officers. He kicked in the door because he knew the boy would not be able to. Lil Wayne recounted the day to Acho.
โThey saw meโฆ they just jumped clean over me and went through the house talking about โI found the drugs, I found the gun,โ he told Acho. โAnd so it took a guy named Uncle Bob.โ
Officer Hoobler did not step over the boy. He stopped right there. Wayne said that one of the officers informed Hoobler that "I got the drugs." However, Hoobler was not interested.
โAnd he was like โI donโt give a fโk about no drugs. Do you not see the baby on the ground?โ
Lil Wayne
Saving A Life
Wayne says he told Hoobler he was not a baby. Hoobler focused on the wounded child, having officers help him get Wayne into a police car. Hoobler held him "like a little baby" while another officer drove them to a hospital.
Hooblers actions saved Lil Wayne's life. Lil Wayne ran into Hoobler, and he told him, " I'm happy to see that I saved a life that mattered."
Wayne offered financial support to Hoobler, who he calls "Uncle Bob." Hoobler said it was not necessary, but the now-retired officer may join Lil Wayne's team in the future.
Awesome story Ideal for MTV & VH1 Hoorah
That's awesome glad that someone was seeing the child that was in front of them, not the gun and drugs, those are easily seen !!!!! It only takes 1 person looking at the entire picture to make a difference !!!!!
Angels among us!
Love and acceptance is all this world needs. Not hate and dictatorship
In the mean time. We still need to keep our heads on a swivel
It is good to hear the compliments and hoorahs for our Law Enforcement at the local levels. Get rid of the FBI Director Ray and I'll add the FBI!
Hoover built up the FBI's reputation was false. Hoover had the FBI in the shadows about how good they were. He looked the other way where the mob was concerned. He never pursued them. He received a lot of special privileges.
So much of what the FBI does is not legal, and they are used to cover up political duplicity.
If they had an honorable director, they could be what they should be.
BARBARA - I beg your pardon - I grew up just outside Washington DC and we knew of and knew personally FBI agents and other personnel - they are by the MOST part all very dedicated people, highly caring about law, order and protecting citizens and others. The FBI people we knew personally were the best people, the most concerned about OTHERS rather than themselves...they LOVED this country and followed the law and principles of their profession and office. STOP the put downs of these agencies because of the single ones the LIBERAL PRESS decides to tie to a spit and burn them over a flame!!! THESE people are of higher intelligence and dedication than we are told!!! AND NO I have NO family involved in any way with the FBI...my father was a well known dentist and many were his patients & I was his "chairside assistant" so got to know them and often their families!!!!! RESOECT THOSE WHO vow to take care of YOUR interests!!!
I think a lot of those that serve us are like this officer. Not a rap person at all . Most of it is about violence and drugs. Not into that at all Iโm more a redneck cowboy type. I commend these officers and Iโll Wayne for recognizing the potential good in a child and Wayne for understanding they came to help. Now also for the life long bond theyโve formed. Great job from both sides. Perry Miller .Calif.๐๐โค๏ธ๐บ๐ธ๐
Our wonderful warriors at work. Thank God for policemen that care about us.
Won't see it on the national news!
CPO Bill =- and WHO expects to see anything complementary about law enforcement anywhere in the "national news"??? We need young conservatives to become conservative REPORTERS - I went the journalism route in a well known WDC University=== until they spent two semesters teaching us how to put our personal - aka liberal opinions into "news reports"...then I changed majors -
Noting that the officer did what he was supposed to do FIRST - take care of the injured person and allow the others to BE SURE the site was safe. THAT is what should happen, and often does. The greatest part of this story is that Lil Wayne REMEMBERS and CARES enough to say something even these years later and to consider the officer an "uncle" and TELL people. So often we don't hear that the celebrities' care over the years but EXPECT this kind of care...THANKS LW and koodos to YOU for noting that you still appreciate the actions of that very second and officer who saved your life. Please keep the respect you have for him to honor ALL police officers as they often save lives every day without any recognition but are slammed way too often...THANKS for speaking up!!!!
