Confronting a Robber

The armed robber entered, pointing his gun in the direction of the cashier. Kilcer was within arm’s length of the robber and was seen on the station’s security footage grabbing the armed assailant’s wrist and punching him.

The whole thing was over in about 5 seconds. Kilcer told the Yuma County Sheriff’s deputies, “The Marine Corps taught me not to {mess) around.”

The juvenile suspect is being charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault. According to Yuma County spokeswoman Tania Pavlak, Kilcer will receive a citizens valor award from Sheriff eon N. Wilmot next week.

Kilcer sat down for an interview with Fox News host Dana Perino and told her while his training in the Marines provided him with muscle memory to respond, he likes to make sure he is ready for emergencies.
