  1. Reminds me of an instance where our senior corpsman Stuberfield was wounded, yet despite his wounds crawled through intense enemy fire to assist the other corpsman it providing life saving treatment to wounded Marines. While continually exposing himself to a barrage of small arms and automatic weapons fire Senior Corpsman Stuberfield dragged along with himself much need ammunition to Marines fending off the attack from the NVA. Not only was he assisting in life saving treatment to the wounded, but delivering much need ammunition to the Marines was a major contribution to the success of the operation. I believe he was recommended for the Silver Star, but the request was denied by whoever oversees Corpsman Awards....it was later resubmitted but again refused to be processed.Stuberfield served with Co. I, 3rd Battalion 9th Marines Regiment, 3rd Marine Division in 1968-1969. Senior Corpsman Stuberfield was and is a HERO.
