As the Kyle Rittenhouse homicide trial draws to a close, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers has taken precautions enlisting the help of 500 National Guard Troops around Kenosha. The jury will deliberate after they finish hearing closing arguments.

However, the Guardsmen will be on standby until law enforcement requests their assistance. The troops are from the 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team and are staged in undisclosed locations due to security concerns.
The Guardsmen will have batons and riot shields. They will also likely have M4 rifles and rubber bullets. This is not the first time the Guard has been deployed in Wisconsin. Last year, there were 1,200 troops deployed to protests in Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, Racine, and Kenosha.
"I urge folks who are otherwise not from the area to please respect the community by reconsidering any plans to travel there and encourage those who might choose to assemble and exercise their First Amendment rights to do so safely and peacefully."

Rittenhouse is charged with six criminal counts for the deaths of two men, Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber, and the injury of Gaige Grosskreutz. The teenager has pled not guilty on all accounts, though he could get a life sentence if convicted.
Maj. Gen. Paul Knapp, Wisconsin's adjutant general, said, "In close coordination with the governor, we have assembled approximately 500 Soldiers to help keep the Kenosha community safe, should a request from our local partners come in." Hopefully, Kenosha will not need them to intervene.

You do realize the Guard members live in that state and most likely in the same city or surrounding localities. They aren't there to play strong arm, as you put it. They are there to provide the manpower and containment capabilities that under-staffed and under-trained local law enforcement agencies typically face during mob situations. This is well within the responsibily and role of the National Guard.

NOT GUILTY! I know so many of us were relieved and thrilled that true justice was served for Kyle Rittenhouse. God bless the jurors who followed the law and evidence, and did the right thing despite the potential threat to their safety. Praying to see more of this in the future.
