This story is one that would break any dog lover's heart and our thoughts and prayers are with the Parsons Police Department.
The puppy in question, a three month old black German Shepherd named Ranger, had been let out into the backyard around 7AM by his handler. Later that day, the off-duty Police Officer found the lifeless puppy with it's head severed.
An investigation revealed the the dog had been slain somewhere else before being tossed back into the Police Officers yard. This appears to be a targeted attack against the puppy's handler.
“I cannot even describe my feelings of disdain for the person(s) responsible,” the outraged chief wrote in the press release. “I am an avid dog lover as I have made it clear to the community over the years that I have been here, I have 2 rescue dogs, one that I adopted from our local shelter. The level of cowardice that would lead someone to kill a little puppy named ‘Ranger’ is astonishing.”

We support the Parsons Police Department in the ongoing investigation and hope the perpetrator is apprehended and brought to justice. Need to find the/ these perpetrators that v did this senseless act and give them life in prison or in an animal shelter. Make a separate cell in the shelter and let them hear the dogs barking half the night wanting a home to live in.
Anyone who would do something so cold and unfeeling deserves the same kind of treatment. As an animal lover I have no sympathy for someone who would be so cruel to do something like this to an innocent and helpless creature of God. I pray they catch the one(s) who did this horrible crime and mete out the maximum amount of punishment the law allows.

This act was committed by a sick and cowardly person (probably a liberal) that is hopefully found and punished accordingly. I can think of several suitable punishments that, if I mentioned them, would get me cancelled from this site!!

I have and had rescue dogs and cats. I am beyond horrified that someone is capable of doing this to any animal. They start with animals and move up to humans. Best catch this SCUM POS BASTARD very soon.
This senseless act literally makes me sick to my stomach. There is a really disturbed coward out there that would to that to a trusting, playful little puppy. First, step to a serial killer. I love animals and don't like to see any animal harmed. I hope they catch this person before he/she graduates to killing people. I own 3 German shepherds...two rescues and one bought from a farmer. They are beautiful, loyal, loving and noble dogs.

Anyone who would do that to one of God's creatures needs to be hung from the tallest tree. Whoever did this vial act should be brought before court and sentenced to life in prison with no parole. Back in the year 2000 I had a beautiful black German Shepherd puppy named Shadow. He was jet black with blue eyes. I had a neighbor with whom I'd had a dispute about five doors down the street Shadow was taking training very well and was kind of large for his three months. one afternoon We had company . Shadow was in our high fenced yard. Suddenly, I heard him yelp in obvious pain. I ran out to find him bleeding profusely, dieng. Someone had stabbed him (through the heart, it turned out). My wife and were stunned. I can't be certain, but I think I know who might have done it.
Bet this officer knows exactly who did this and for sure he won't let it go!
I think you're right, the officer won't let it go, BUT if/when they find the killer, some liberal judge will probably slap his hands and let him/her walk. No life in prison either. I don't want my tax dollars supporting the bastard(s).
