The state of affairs in New York has gone from bad to worse for Law Enforcement officers. On New Years Eve into New Years Day, multiple officers were slated for back-to-back shifts.
One such officer ended the first shift at 2:30AM and was scheduled to start the next shift barely 4 hours later, so he decided to rest in his car since the department dorms were full.
After sleeping for a few hours, he awoke to a bullet to the head. He was rushed to surgery to remove bullet fragments from his fractured skull. Fortunately, it was a grazing wound and it didn’t take his life.
“He’s in the driver’s seat, he’s reclined, and the bullet comes through and hits him in the head from the rear passenger window”

Thankfully, the veteran officer and father of two kids is expected to make a full recovery. Here is a heartwarming video of him leaving the hospital:
