A big component of emergency response is timing. First responders typically have a limited time window when responding to a life or death situation. Obviously, getting to the scene is priority one and often burns much of the golden time window.
In some cases though, first responders happen to be in the right place at the right time.
In this case, Missouri firefighters were conducting an ice rescue drill when the the deputy chief noticed two teenagers running across the ice. Moments later, they fell into the frigid water.
The firefighters immediately kicked into rescue mode and got to work. The two teens were safely brought back to shore though they were in the early stages of hypothermia. Both boys are respected to make a full recovery thanks to the firefighters quick, skilled response.
heck out drone footage of the event and let us know what you think in the comments below:
couple kids not using their heads very lucky rescue personnel were there and noticed them
There was a recent rescue on Lake Erie of several people also. There are fools every year! Usually there is at least one person that tries to drive their car from Put N Bay to Port Clinton.
AWESOME AWESOME JOB!!!!!
Thankfully y'all where close by, I'm sure the boys and their parents are thrilled !!!!!!!!!
GOD was watching over them and had y'all there to SAVE them !!!! Everyone doesn't get a second chance, hope they use it WISELY !!!!!!!!
The firefightfighters deserve a major well done. the kids and their parents not so much.
When I was a kid in Michigan we knew not to walk on ice like that. Idiot kids!
We should all remember to give thanks to Almighty God for the many selfless acts these people do for us
