What??? He Ejected. So how was he tumbling all over the place. The chute deploys once once he ejects. Baloney.
Nope ! Fact ! He was my C.O. while in a radar unit . MACS-7, Cherry Point NC. in the late 50's
There are an assortment of forces including one related to Bernoulli’s principle and pressure gradients such as in Venturi’s effect. These pressure gradients actually give airplanes lift. They can also send pilots and parachutes in all direction. This pilot was one lucky dude,
I was an AME 2 at VF124 Miramar working on F8s we had a pilot eject the drogue chute deploys after the canopy is gone. After that the seat separates and the main chute deploys in a typical ejection say in the case of a cold cat. The shop got a lot of brewski that day after the seat was returned with the happy appreciative pilot in tow.
GOD bless the USN and all who keep us free and safe!!!!!
