You know that progressive policies have gone way too far when the leftist Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, says the quiet part out loud: progressive politics are to blame for the increase in crime across America.
The shocking statement was made following a statement from the former NYC Police Commissioner William Bratton:
“The scales right now are tipped very heavily in favor of the reforms of the progressive left. Well intended, some needed, but a bit too far, and what we have as a result is this growing fear of crime, this growing actual amount of crime in almost every American city.”
Adams agreed with Bratton, saying that he was “right”, which is a pretty drastic reversal of previous statements.
When asked about the NYC subway shooting suspect Frank James, Mayor Adams alluded that James was hiding in plain sight. Of course, he then went on to say that social media companies should have stepped up regarding James’s racist content.
While he’s not wrong, his earlier statement was correct. Radical, anti-Police policies are devastating communities across the country.
Despite Mayor Adams statement, it’s unlikely that he will do much to reverse the situation.
