Across the country schools are allowing disturbing books in their libraries, giving kids access to material that they aren't ready for. Unfortunately, when parents try to do something about it, they are facing backlash from school boards.
The culture war in America is heating up and a major focus is parental rights, especially regarding what can or cannot be taught to children in school.
For example, a mother in Colorado was silenced by school board members when reading from a book that is widely accessible to kids. The book in question, "Gender Queer", contains graphic sexual content. Apparently, this content is too inappropriate to read out loud in front of adults yet it is readily available to kids in some schools.
The mothers point is well taken. If this book is too graphic for a bunch of adults then it has no business being in a school library. Hopefully the school board listens and does not allow such vulgarity in it's library.
Unfortunately, this book is available in many school districts around the country and parents are unable to do much about it. School boards are caving to the mob and allowing this trash to be read by children.
Only time will tell, but the left can only go so far for so long. At some point they will have to face the consequences of indoctrinating young children and ignoring the rights of parents. If you have kids, make sure you are actively involved in their upbringing. Get out and vote, join the school board, lobby against dangerous ideologies, whatever you are able to maintain your rights as a parent.

Time to home school you kids if you don’t want them to be brain washed. Schools have No right to do what they are doing. I am glad all my kids are out of school before all this wrong teaching started. The only thing parents can do is take your kids out of school the corrupt politicians can’t do anything about it .i know I would have pulled out all three of my children if this was the stuff they where learning. They push all kids through nowadays without knowing anything useful. It is their intention to keep them dumb down. Open up your eyes parents and save your children from the wicked it is your job given you by GOD ALMIGHTY it is your duty to teach them wrong from right. Please name and give addresses of the schoolboard members. Let's write to them and tell them where they are going wrong!! I think that would help them get real!
Do what the Commie Democrats do. Parents should be going to the homes of school boards, principals and teachers and protesting. The brainwashing and dumbing down of students, our next generation of Politicians, healthcare workers, and every other job is totally unacceptable. Also every voter needs to vote the Commie Democrats out of office. They are all traitors and a danger to our freedoms. They have been brainwashing our children and attacking our Constitutional rights for years. They don’t support it and don’t enforce our laws.

When did this change? I was under the impression that the parents were actually the tax payers who paid the school boards saleries, and voted them intoi officer.

Teach kids the 3 R's first. What percentage of kids cannot even read before graduating from high school? Teachers have the job of educating kids, not politicizing them!
I have to laugh at all these posts. These dirtbag board members were voted into their postions by voters, it is time to vote them OUT of office, EVERY DEMOCRAT NEEDS TO BE OUSTED. But --we will see come voting time -- my guess is that most of the parents complaining about what is being taught to our kids WILL reelect these same dirtbags -- mark my words-- I have witnessed it personally. The only real answer is home school your children, take them right out of the perverted atmosphere. If these school districts lose students they also lose funding -- put them out of business !!!!!
