Oregon National Guard Attempts Daring Helicopter Rescue of Injured Mountain Climber

 July 10, 2022

The Oregon National Guard is making headlines for completing a daring helicopter rescue of an injured mountain climber.

The 43-year-old man had been climbing Mt. Hood, a volcano east of Portland Oregon, when his ice pick lost it's grip. Allegedly, the victim fell almost 700 feet down the mountain and sustained injuries that left him unable to walk.

A 65-foot long Black Hawk helicopter landed on a snowy ridge line in order to evacuate the man from extremely treacherous terrain. The highly skilled landing enabled medics to transport the man to a local hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred on the Hogsback Route, a popular but challenging trail. Rescuers called the National Guard for help and the Black Hawk crew had to navigate dangerous conditions in order to reach the evacuation point. The rescue was caught on tape, and you can see just how skilled the crew is:

This incredible rescue is a reminder of the skill and dedication inherent to individuals who make up the Oregon National Guard, and the U.S. Armed Forces as a whole.

  1. God bless those first responders for putting their own live in jeopardy to save another. Miraculous save.

  2. Once again to rescue, notwithstanding their lives would be in danger. I remember years ago: "If you're in trouble, why not just call a hippie for help?" (NowSpeak renamed as a FAntiFa, a BLM, or a socialist?)

      1. Stephen Kear: I'm a-feared there ain't no Kipling's Rikki-Tikki-Tavi going to be able to save us from THESE snakes. WTP have to want our Liberty as bad as our Founders did, and use ALL the tools they gave us: Declaration, Federalist Papers, and our Constitution to combat what they knew was a danger, but couldn't even conceive of. I still have faith in the Never-Been-Used Article 5 Convention0fStates.com (as the threat which caused the 21st Amendment) or to actually recover WeThePeople's Power over Legislative (Congress) and Executive (enforcement of l aws) Branches.

  3. The item said it was the Oregon National Guard and U.S. Military that saved this man - Now... Biden has mandated that our Military men must have the vaccine or be dropped from the Military - this is crazy - they are free men and our warriors - let them make their own decisions.... We see over and over how great our Military is - we need men like this - Biden and his cohorts have no business interfering with our Military - they don't know _ _ _ _.

      1. I’m not a Joe Biden fan but to set the record straight he had an older son named Beau who was not only in the military but was Attorney General for the state of Delaware..He died of Cancer.

        Google it!

    1. Those men are all heros and deserve our thanks for saving that man. WOW and thank you is all I can say.
