Police Pursuit ends in Standoff, K9 Officer gets to Work

Garden Grove police responded to a reported carjacking that had just occurred in the 11000 block of Magnolia Street. Officers began canvassing the area and were able to locate the vehicle nearby. A police pursuit was initiated after the suspect refused to pull over.

Police used the pursuit intervention technique which ended the pursuit in the 800 block of Magnolia Street in Anaheim. Officers used patrol vehicles to box in the suspect to avoid him fleeing again. The suspect ignored several commands to exit the vehicle.

After several additional attempts, officers used pepper balls to try and gain compliance. Eventually an OC Sheriffs K9 was used to take the suspect into custody. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Yet again, a faithful K9 officer got the job done!
