Violent Crime Seeing Most Significant Increase in Recorded History

Crime Scene

Over the last few years, the United States has seen the largest year-by-year increase in violent crime since these kind of statistics have been tracked.

Rape has increased by 20% since 2019 while murder is up nearly 40%. Unfortunately, there seems to be no slowing down either.

So what is causing this unprecedented spike in violent crime? Law enforcement experts have coined the phrase “toxic trio” in an attempt to make people aware of what’s going on.

The Toxic Trio

“…there are two inextricably like public safety crises happening. Crime, especially murder, has risen precipitously since the summer of 2020 while law enforcement has been demoralized, debilitated, and in some cases defunded. Homicides are up almost 40% since 2019, while most large police departments are hemorrhaging officers.”

Jason Johnson, president of the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund

The “toxic trio” is likely the main cause for these drastic spikes in violent crime:

Anti-police rhetoric

The anti-police rhetoric coming from the nations so-called leaders has been incredibly demoralizing for law enforcement officers and emboldening for criminals.

Officers are leaving departments in record numbers, either to work in cities that support them or to find new careers altogether.

Criminals know that if they commit a crime, the system will be on their side.

Rogue prosecutors

A recent shift has seen large cities elect Soros endorsed prosecutors who are lax on criminals and anti-police. More and more we are seeing prosecutors refuse to prosecute entire categories of crime, typically based on demographics.

However, there has been a massive increase in prosecutions of police officers who acted within department policy and well established use of force continuums. If a suspect is a minority and shot by police, it doesn’t matter if the officer acts within the rules they are still being prosecuted.

This just further emboldens criminals because they know law enforcement are less and less likely to use lethal force if required.

Defund the police movement

The “defund the police” message has been largely supported by democrat leaders in America, though of course they’ve now pivoted and pretend it never happened.

However, those cities who refused to defund their departments are not seeing the same spike in violent crime as those cities who have reduce law enforcement funding.

Those cities who slashed their police budgets are trying to stem the hemorrhaging now with historically high budget increases, but it’s too little too late.

How do we fix it?

Unfortunately, the damage has been done and it will take a significant amount of time for these anti-police cities to see a difference.

If they keep up their anti-police attitude, continue to elect leaders who don’t support law and order, or do something about rogue prosecutors, they may never be able to recover.

The good news is that there are always men and women ready to step up and fight evil. They will stand against that darkest corners of human nature and put their lives on the line for others.

But these men and women need the support of those they defend, or they will not stick around.
