Legendary Servicemembers: Tom Mclean, Most Feared Tail Gunner of WWII

Tail gunners were the first line of defense for bomber aircraft during WWII. Theirs was an especially dangerous position, seated in the most vulnerable location at the back of the aircraft, directly in the line of enemy fire.

  2. Yeah. Back in those days the members of the armed forces were more concerned about confronting the enemy using weaponry, not about calling their attention to LGBTQ complaints or gender recognition possibilities.
