In the wake of yet another school shooting, the call for armed security in our schools is more urgent than ever. It's time to put aside political agendas and do what's best for our kids.
Armed guards protect politicians, celebrities, banks, government buildings... why not our children? It's time to put their safety first. We can make America's schools safe again - for our kids and for our future.
In fact, we can protect schools and provide jobs for a highly skilled group of people who happen to always be looking for meaningful work: veterans and former First Responders. Of course, no one is suggesting that this employment is not accompanied by a rigorous background check and psychological evaluation.
Yes, this solution would cost money. But what better use for taxpayer dollars that protecting the most innocent among us? How about instead of sending billions of dollars to Ukraine, which will be used to arm them against Russia, we focus on hardening our schools.
Of course, many say that this shouldn't be necessary in America. This cowardly argument is used to pivot the discussion away from real solutions to gun control. But the fact is, there are maniacs in every corner of the world and if we want to protect our children, we need to be proactive.
Armed guards in schools are not a perfect solution, but they are a necessary one. Let's put aside our differences and do what's best for our kids. They deserve nothing less.

Gun Free School Zones must be abolished. Teachers, janitors, other employees who are willing and knowledgeable ought to have guns. Nothing stops a bad guy with a gun better than a good guy with a gun. It was only when a border patrolman went in did the killer get his. The armed cops allowed children to bleed out in one classroom for an hour. They did nothing but keep parents from surging the murderer but handcuffing some parents, tasing others, etc.

ALL Gun Free Zones should be abolished. If taxpayers are funding security details for politicians, that money should be directed to the schools and let them ( Politicians ) pay for their own security services.
Absolutely true. Our children have to come first. Gun free zones are an invitation for the criminals. Yes, let the politicians pay for protection on their own. They're not more important than the average person. They're the ones screwing us up.
It's far beyond time when we stop blaming guns for these killings and instead blame the shooters. We don't blame a car when someone is killed by one - what is the difference? Neither weapon does anything that isn't controlled by the person using it. Time to stop coddling criminals. We treat criminals better than our own homeless. I am not saying to give our homeless more, I'm saying to give our criminals less. Treat them like the criminals they are, not a vacation from life. I'm saying, make it a punishment they won't want to repeat rather than a reformation facility. The conditions our military have to make good with should be good enough for those behind bars. Let them live like the solders do when they are sent to war (except for weapons of course). And while this reeks of barbarism, let those who bring drugs and use drugs into the prisons, be subject to lashes; something that will permanently remind them not to do it again. The same for those who perform violence on others, We should make it so that if one continues with criminal behavior after being sent behind bars, then the next step should make more of an impression,
Like they say, guns don't kill people, people kill people. I've always felt the same way as you. It's the driver not the car. Criminals shouldn't have any rights, period. Especially repeat offenders. Period. We have to make the penalties MUCH more severe. Maybe they'll think twice. Who knows. Worth a shot.

I agree with you 100% never had a gun walked into a place a killed someone by itself a person had to do it. Same goes for the car it can't drive itself drunk a person has to be behind the wheel. Start holding people accountable for their actions?
It shouldn't be necessary, but leftist policies for too many decades have made it so! Children NEED, even demand, limits, to feel safe; if limits aren't set & enforced, they will act out 'til the limits are set & enforced. Children NEED even handed, just discipline, & again, they will act out 'til discipline is imposed fairly & equally. If 1 group is "favored" by consistently not being disciplined when they should be, the rest will act out in resentful anger. That's the nature of children. Those who commit such acts of violence are almost always over medicated, under disciplined, sometimes the bullies, others those bullied, but usually from fatherless & Godless homes.
Put fathers back in homes, God back in schools, homes, & gov'ts, reinstate discipline in schools, start holding criminals in gov'ts accountable, & stop letting crimes "slide" in general. Let children see clearly "crime doesn't pay"!

I'm thinking the counselors of the shooters last school may have dropped the ball. In today's climate all students should receive screening so that these abhorrent behaviors can be caught before they have the chance to create chaos. It's mental health; bullying, social disparagement, and or actual bipolar disorders need to be diagnosed and treated to prevent these incidents.

Absolutely time for armed security(more than 1 person if necessary) in the schools. There are politicians who hate this idea because it doesn't fit their agenda of disarming the law-abiding citizens and just might put an end to these absolute tragedies that they use to start their yelling about senseless gun control.
Every Educational Institution should be in "Lock Down" mode during class times. One entrance in and all others exit out. Installed Automatic Doors Locks that latches on all class rooms when there is an active-shooter who has gain entrance on the campus or in the building. Our students at any age, the teachers, professionals should feel secure, safe and free of fear!
Gun free zones are just advertising they are a soft target waiting for an attack. There should be armed security at all schools and places where large groups of people gather. Good jobs for Veterans, public safety retirees , if teachers and staff have proper training they should also be allowed to be armed to protect themselves and others. Sure, I do believe in helping others if possible but I believe in helping ourselves first. Right now we got American children and teachers who need us for their protection. I do think if we can give Ukanian 40 million and we know it is not all going to Ukraine. How about using some of that extra money and protecting our children to stop this unnecessary bloodshed and loss of life. Our children are our most precious commodity.
Metal detectors would help at school entrances. Trained, armed teachers also.
What is REALLY needed is the removal of violent military video games, and others like Grand Theft Auto. where players get extra points for running over pedestrians..And then we wonder why our kids do shootings and murder with other tools. OUR KIDS ARE DESENSITISED TO VIOLENCE IN GANGS AND SEEING MURDER IN MOVIES, TV, AND ON THE STREET. GET A CLUE !! Parents need better control of, and awareness of what their kids are playing, and what it is doing to them inside.
we must have armed personnel @ school......what will someone do against an armed intruder - who would shot down anyone trying approach....it's the government who wants the innocent "ripe for the picking". they use this to push their agenda to take our guns away despite the constitution....this is only one fight that must be taken on, as we are being attacked on many fronts! no on can do everything but everybody can do something!
