This is one of those Police calls that demonstrates just how quickly things can escalate. What should have been a simple loss prevention incident escalated to an Officer involved shooting.

All he had to do was walk outside and recieve his no trespass citation. Just a piece of paper, no ticket. But NO, had to act stupid grabbing knife and resisting !!!

Way to go law enforcement, scum like that needs to get what he got, sure glad no law enforcement were hurt!
The thief, a hard core criminal with warrants for his arrest, escalate the situation. He was pulling a gun to do what, shoot the deputies? He deserved getting shot to prevent him from injuring anyone with his gun. However, this was in California. People will point fingers at police and try to place some type of blame on the deputies. I can hear it now: i.e., with three deputies present no shooting had to take place, or the police didn't have to shoot the armed man, or he was just trying to protect himself from the police. The excuses the defense attorneys will use in court are always something to roll eyeballs over. By the time the defense attorneys get done, we're supposed to be feeling sorry for the criminal.
