Rookie Police Officers Attempt To Save Choking Infant

 May 17, 2022

Few things are more frightening than watching an infant struggling to breathe. The helplessness and fear often lead to panic, which tends to make the situation worse.

A mother in Springfield Massachusetts experienced this terrifying situation on May 9 when her 3-month-old daughter began choking in her car seat. The mother frantically pulled over.

Fortunately, two Police Officers were on patrol and witnessed the frantic mother screaming for help. The Officers immediately leapt into action. Officer Christopher Charles rushed to grab the child out of her car seat while Officer Luis Rodriguez jumped on the radio to request an ambulance.

Bodycam footage shows Officer Charles holding the baby facedown and patting her back in an attempt to clear the airway:

The Officers and mother breathed a sigh of relief once the baby began breathing normally. The infant was taken to a nearby hospital where she was medically cleared and released later that day.

Officer Christopher Charles and Luis Rodriguez graduated from the academy a little over a month before this terrifying incident. Thankfully, the training they received allowed them to react appropriately and save the baby's life.

Unfortunately, the anti-Police movement will not recognize the importance of these Officers or that Police in fact save hundreds of thousands if not millions of lives each year. WE may never know just how many, but the fact remains that the men and women and blue are the reason that many are alive and breathing today.

  1. This is why I thank police, sheriff, and firemen for their service every time I see them on the street, for all the things they do for people every day, even if it isn't for me.

  2. I support the police; but when i see hundreds of kids in Chicago destroying a bus and all the cops left; makes you wonder whats really going on.

  3. These young men and women are doing Great things everyday and don't expect accolades!! It's a darn shame our News Media's only want to spread Fake and Ugly LIES to incite Protester's and Criminals fodder to Commit Crimes.
They also continually Stir the Pot with RACIST innuendo !!

  4. The police are everyday heroes, & the fools who want to defund them are looking at the wrong segment of the population; it's the lawbreakers, not the law enforcers, who need "overhauled"!

    1. Selfless, heroic actions by police officers happen every day, all over our beautiful country. Yet the media often ignores their stories. I think the msm and networks like Fox should pick one story a week and devote air time to the stories of our officer performances. I think the responses from our law abiding citizens would be not just supportive, but would be overwhelming.

      1. Yes, they do. That would be a great idea, IF the leftist media would treat them honestly, but that's an outcome I don't foresee happening. Maybe Fox. OAN, does, & prb Newsmax, America's Voice, RSBN, & First America; the rest, no... They'd be as apt to spin the story against police.

  5. Kudos to the two for their quick response and success. I DO support them completely but I also know there'll always be a few who need culling but the 99% need honored most of which seems to be in lib run areas or the backwoods. That's just natural statistics.

  6. God bless them and keep them safe. My pastor is a police officer and I know what they go through to do their job. I know there are some bad seeds in there but there are more good ones like my pastor and these two. I agree with Fay that they are not paid nearly enough to put their lives on the line on a daily basis. I pray for everyone who wears the police uniform or the Border Patrol uniform because they are not paid enough to do the job they do and they are treated like dirt for what they do.
