This is a long video, and a heartbreaking one. After spending hours trying to help a woman in mental distress, Officers are forced to shoot her as she charges them with a knife.
Despite the amount of work Officers put in trying to save her, the family of the woman is calling for an end to "Police brutality". We are sorry for their loss, but we also stand with the Police who work so hard to keep us safe.

What did the family expect the officers to do....stand by while she knifed them? They tried to help her but obviously she was at a "mental" breakdown stage. So sorry for her family but really, police brutality...no way.

What about the sister, since she hated her sister so much and also knew what would set her off. Other in the home offer no HELP. to POLICE OFFICER. and the first to blame the POLICE OFFICER. The first thing she wanted done was to SUE. What I heard and saw, on tape and voice, the Police was (at) professional in his job.
Are you a police officer ? If not you need to keep quiet, those officers did a great job in trying to keep her from hurting herself and others !

If one of my daughters acted like that her belongings would be tossed out on the lawn! She really needed more disipline!
Those officers don’t get paid enough. My gosh the patience they exhibited was unbelievable.

It's idiotic that her family being upset at police, they saved their home and done everything they could for over 2 hours to get her to comply,if she couldn't talk her down, WHY did she think anyone else could ???

When you have a bunch of people who REFUSE to accept REALITY, you will always have a difficult time dealing with them !!!! They seem to be unable/unwilling to accept FACTS over FICTION !!!! AWESOME JOB FROM THE OFFICERS !!!! MONEY SAVED!!!!!!

Great job done by the Syracuse Police Department, you did everything possible to end this peacefully. Sad that you have your jobs on line because of doing your jobs to help someone who was unstable and would have let the house burn and hurt or killed an officer 💙🙏🏻🖤 To the sister of the young lady, you’re unbelievable starting a petition against officers that did everything to help her ! Where were you during this time? Oh, that’s right your Mom said you didn’t get along with each other, now you want payday 😠
And the Officers will be condemned as the bad guys. All the Law Enforcement Haters need to go through a Police Training Simulation, and once they change their “underwear” they will have a clue what LIFE AND DEATH truly means!
