According to the New York Post, Larry Schwartz and Joanna Cuccia were approaching the Stein Senior Center on East 23rd Street near Third Avenue when they were targeted by a male suspect and his female accomplice. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. Wednesday when the male suspect, believed to be in his 40s, initiated contact by asking for directions to a non-existent Walmart.
The couple immediately sensed something was amiss when the male suspect led Cuccia to a gray SUV where his supposed wife was waiting. The female suspect, approximately 35 years old, displayed unusual behavior by showing off chains and bracelets while attempting to engage with the elderly couple.
