Ex-Ukrainian Commander Warns Of World War III In Progress

 November 24, 2024

Valerii Zaluzhnyi, a pivotal figure in Ukrainian defense, announced a grim milestone in global affairs.

According to Breitbart, during a notable public appearance, he claimed that the global conflict scale had escalated to what he considers the start of World War III.

Speaking at the UP100 award ceremony held by Ukrainska Pravda, Zaluzhnyi, now serving as the Ukrainian ambassador to Britain, voiced his concerns. He described a conflict intensified by the involvement of major world powers and a noteworthy escalation in military engagements.

The former Ukrainian commander-in-chief referred to Russia's employment of technology and armaments from countries like Iran, North Korea, and China. This international involvement underscores the intricate web of global dynamics at play.

Zaluzhnyi's comments were bolstered by recent strategic shifts in the United States and the United Kingdom. The U.S. authorized Ukraine to deploy long-range ATACMS missiles targeting the Russian mainland, an action previously avoided to prevent escalation.

UK Follows US in Escalating Military Support

Shortly after the U.S. decision, the UK also stepped up, approving the use of Storm Shadow missiles capable of striking deep within the Russian territory of Kursk. This move by both nations signaled a significant ramp-up in military aid for Ukraine.

In response to these developments, Russian President Vladimir Putin revised Russia’s nuclear doctrine. The doctrine now warns that any hostile action against Russia backed by a nuclear state could trigger a nuclear retaliatory strike. This chilling policy update reflects the high stakes and tense atmosphere governing current geopolitical relations.

Furthermore, the Russian ambassador to the UK, Andrei Kelin, implied that such actions by the UK signify its direct involvement in the conflict, a statement that has added further tension to already strained diplomatic ties.

UK’s Stance on the Escalation

Countering the assertions of Russian involvement, UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer clarified the position of his government. He emphasized the UK's supportive stance towards Ukraine, marking over a thousand days of unwavering solidarity facing Russian aggression.

Zaluzhnyi passionately elaborated on the opportunity the world has to draw critical conclusions from the ongoing turmoil. Here is what he expressed:

"I believe that in 2024 we can absolutely believe that World War III has begun. What we have been waiting for so long has already begun. But I want to say that God himself gives a chance, not only to Ukraine, but also all over the world, to have time to make the right conclusions now."

Zaluzhnyi also hinted at the historical gravity of the situation and the role of foreign powers in potentially shaping the outcome of this expansive conflict. His poignant words charged the international community to recognize the depth of the crisis.

The escalation timeline shows a real shift in the tactics employed by Ukraine’s allies, reflecting an intensified commitment against Russian advances. Zaluzhnyi’s announcements underscore the dire circumstances and the rallying cry for a broader global response.

Ukraine stands at a crucial juncture, bolstered by technology and international support, yet the outcome remains uncertain. According to Zaluzhnyi, the involvement of numerous adversaries complicates Ukraine’s position dramatically.

The unfolding scenario requires close observation as global powers navigate through a landscape marked by conventional and nuclear threats, where strategic decisions could influence the global balance of power. As the situation develops, the international community remains on edge, contemplating the potential ramifications of this escalated conflict.
