A privately-owned aircraft linked to Mötley Crüe's lead vocalist, Vince Neil, met with a tragic accident in Arizona.

As reported by The Independent, a Learjet Model 25A owned by Neil crashed at Scottsdale Airport on Monday afternoon, resulting in the death of the pilot and injuries to multiple passengers, including Neil's girlfriend, Rain Andreani.

The incident occurred when the aircraft veered off course during its landing attempt, colliding with a parked plane. Andreani, 43, sustained five broken ribs in the crash, while her friend and the co-pilot also suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Two dogs traveling with the passengers survived the incident.

Mötley Crüe responds to devastating aircraft collision

The legendary rock band issued a statement through their Instagram account addressing the tragic event. The band expressed their intention to establish support for the deceased pilot's family.

Neil's manager shared his concerns for all individuals involved in the accident and expressed gratitude toward the first responders who provided critical assistance at the scene.

The relationship between Neil and Andreani spans approximately 14 years, having begun in 2011. The couple has maintained a steady partnership throughout Neil's continued involvement with Mötley Crüe, one of rock music's most successful acts.

This incident adds to Neil's connection with the band's storied history, which began in the early 1980s when he joined founding members Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee, along with guitarist Mick Mars.

Recent surge in aviation incidents raises safety concerns

The Scottsdale crash marks another entry in a series of recent aviation accidents across the United States. A particularly devastating incident occurred near Washington DC on January 29, when an army helicopter and commercial jet collided mid-air, resulting in 67 fatalities.

Just days later, Philadelphia witnessed a medical transportation jet crash that claimed seven lives, including six passengers and one person on the ground. The aviation community faced further tragedy when a small commuter plane crashed in western Alaska, with all ten occupants perishing in the accident.

These incidents have prompted increased scrutiny of aviation safety protocols and regulations across various sectors of the industry.

Latest developments in ongoing investigation

Investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the Scottsdale crash, with particular focus on the aircraft's unexpected deviation from the runway. The Learjet's collision with the parked aircraft has raised questions about airport safety procedures and landing protocols.

The band has maintained active communication with authorities and emergency responders throughout the aftermath of the crash. They recently signed with Big Machine Records and released their latest EP titled "Cancelled" in October, demonstrating their continued presence in the music industry despite this unfortunate event.

The emergency response team's swift action at Scottsdale Airport played a crucial role in assisting the survivors, including Andreani and her companion, who were promptly transported to local medical facilities for treatment.
