A Russian model and beauty pageant contestant has died from severe brain injuries sustained in a devastating collision with an elk on a Russian highway.

Kseniya Alexandrova, 30, passed away on August 12 after spending more than a month in a coma following the July 5 accident, according to Fox News. The former Miss Universe contestant was traveling with her husband in their Porsche Panamera on the M-9 highway in Tver Oblast when the elk crashed through their windshield.

The couple was returning home from Rzhev when the animal suddenly appeared in front of their vehicle. Alexandrova suffered catastrophic head injuries when the elk hurtled through the windshield and into the passenger compartment, where she was seated.

Fatal Collision Details Emerge

The model's husband, whose name was not disclosed in reports, described the terrifying moments of the accident. He explained that there was no time to react when the elk jumped in front of their Porsche Panamera, emphasizing that both he and Alexandrova were wearing seatbelts and driving at low speed.

"From the moment it jumped out to the impact, a split second passed. I didn't have time to do anything," the husband told Russian news outlet RIA in a translated statement. The elk's impact caused immediate and severe trauma to Alexandrova, who was seated in the passenger seat during the collision.

He described finding his wife unconscious with a fractured skull and extensive bleeding. "She was unconscious, her head was fractured, everything was covered in blood. The frontal bones of the skull were broken – it was an open cranial-brain injury," he recounted.

Beauty Queen's Background

Alexandrova represented Russia in the 2017 Miss Universe pageant held in Las Vegas, Nevada. She had previously placed second in the Miss Russia competition earlier that same year, establishing herself as a prominent figure in the beauty pageant world.

Beyond her modeling career, Alexandrova was also a qualified psychologist who earned her degree from Moscow Pedagogical State University. Her social media posts from November 2022 highlighted her educational achievements and professional credentials in the field of psychology.

The model was represented by Modus Vivendis modeling agency throughout her career. Her multifaceted background combined both beauty and academic pursuits, making her a well-rounded professional in multiple fields.

Recent Marriage And Personal Life

Alexandrova had recently celebrated a major milestone in her personal life before the tragic accident occurred. According to her Instagram posts, she had married her husband just four months prior to the July collision that would ultimately claim her life.

The newlyweds' brief marriage was cut short by the unexpected wildlife encounter on the Russian highway. Her social media presence showed glimpses of their recent union and happiness as a newly married couple.

The timing of the accident added another layer of tragedy to an already devastating situation. The couple was building their life together when the freak accident changed everything in an instant.

Industry Mourns Rising Star

Modus Vivendis modeling agency released an official statement confirming Alexandrova's death on August 13. The agency posted the tribute on their Instagram account, expressing their grief over losing their colleague and friend.

"It is with great sadness that we inform you that our colleague and friend, model Kseniya Alexandrova, passed away yesterday evening," the translated statement read. The agency emphasized her positive impact on everyone around her during her career.

"Kseniya was bright [and] talented. She knew how to inspire, support and give warmth to everyone who was around," the agency continued in their heartfelt tribute. "For us, she will forever remain a symbol of beauty, kindness and inner strength."
