WATCH: US Air Force Parachute Collision Causes Operator To Free-Fall Into The Ground

The story of US Air Force Pararescueman Scotty Gearen's 90th jump is pretty intense. The PJ managed to get his chute open no problem at the right altitude until a fellow PJ who's chute hadn't opened struck him mid-air. The 2 fell and struck the ground at over 100 miles an hour.

The shocking part? There's footage of the incident and of Scotty telling us about it himself... because he survived. Check out his story below (about 6 minutes into the video) and let us know what you think!

NOTE: there are graphic images of Gearen's injuries after he impacted the ground, so proceed with caution.
