US Coast Guard, Firefighters Attempt Insane Niagara Falls Rescue

Most people have no idea the incredible things our Military and First Responders are capable of. Fortunately, the men and women who serve train endlessly in order to rapidly respond to any crisis imaginable or unimaginable.

In this case, a 60 year old woman plunged off the road and into the rapids on the edge of Niagara Falls. To make matters worse, the weather situation made it difficult for the Firefighters and Police on scene to rescue the driver.

The local water management agency was able to reduce the river flow enough that a Coast Guard rescue swimmer and helicopter crew was able to pull the victim out of the car. Unfortunately, the victim did not survive, our thoughts and prayers go out to their family.

Take a look at the video below to witness the incredible rescue attempt and let us know what you think in the comments below!

  1. This man is one of the bravest man I've ever seen; been to the falls and doing this in frigid weather is amazing, .Best wishes to him and family this time of year

    1. I think this is an absolute incredible act of cool under pressure, and just an example of the bravery exhibited by our LEOs every day of the year!

      1. The Coast Guard is not LEO...this is the bravery of our military members at work. But our First Responders also save lives and help the public every day.

  2. Another Amazing show of proof of the Bravery of our Men and Women in Uniform have. They put the lives of us citizens above their own Everyday to save others. Sadly this lady did not survive, that did not stop the Coast Guard from getting her out of that car in that raging freezing water while the car could have dislodged and gone over the falls at anytime while the rescue diver was getting her out. These people as well as ALL other people in Uniform are Heroes and Deserve to be treated and respected as the same, each and every day
I am grateful for the hard work they do and wish that people would see them for their real worth. Prayers for her family, and All Folks in Uniform!

Hope You All Have a Merry Christmas
