Police Officer Calls Out LeBron James For Anti-Police Rhetoric

 October 7, 2022

Celebrities and athletes are known for using their vast followings and high profile in the media to push their own agendas. Lately, many have been using their status to stir the pot and push anti-police rhetoric, including strong pushes to defund the police.

Often, celebrities and athletes do not have to face the consequences of their words as they are so far detached from reality.

Accountability

Lebron James jumped straight onto the anti-police train within 24 hours of the Ohio police-involved shooting, where the officer saved one girl from being stabbed by another. He tweeted the picture of the officer and captioned it, "YOU'RE Next. #Accountability." To make matters worse, he even included an hourglass emoji to signal that time is limited.

Someone like Lebron James does not understand the reality of the weight of his words and the chaos they can incite. He certainly does not understand what it is like to truly be held accountable for his actions, as removing the tweet does not count.

According to the Daily Wire, there is one LAPD officer who intends to hold James accountable for his words. Officer Deon Joseph wrote James a letter requesting that they meet to share some knowledge on policing.

Letter to James

Joseph is very respectful to James in the letter, praising him for his work with children and other various charities saying it "shows a huge heart."

He then calls him out for his stance on police, stating it is "so off base and extreme." He also called the tweet "irresponsible and disturbing."

"It showed a complete lack of understanding of the challenge of our job in the heat of a moment. You basically put a target on the back of a human being who had to make a split-second decision to save a life from a deadly attack."

An Open Invitation

Joseph also pointed out that James never apologized for his actions only "deflected." He then invites James to have a sit down.

He implores James to "take the time to talk to a police officer instead of judging them," even if that officer is not him. Joseph emphasizes that hate is part of the problem, not the solution.

The letter shows sincerity and honesty on the part of Joseph. Hopefully, James will take him up on his offer and open himself up to other perspectives.

    1. Amen, amen, amen. Without police there’s no civility, no law and order. Bad apples a few and far between but mob rule never learns to anything good. Support your local police, always.

      1. I don't know if you can say there's no civility without cops. It would just ho back to old school rules, before it happens. If everyone carried a firearm, like the 2nd Amendment allows, it would bring civility rather quickly. There's a quote that says an armed society is a polite society. When a person's life depends upon the actions and words he uses, people become more polite and respectful. Bring armed and proficient with a firearm, would get the attention of those that have no respect for the law. Liberals always claim it would make cities like Dodge City. There might be some outbreaks at first, but career criminals usually carry out at least 20 crimes, before they are stopped. Since less than 1% of the population does the majority of crimes; they run out of helpers very shortly if they're dead.

  1. Where would be without the heroes that run into danger as we run away. Sometimes yiu really need to put yourself in their place and be honest with yourself when you answer what would I do ?

  2. James isn't man enough to meet with the police or take a tour of a shift in a police car.

  3. Maybe James should put on a Police Uniform and go out on patrol and see the target that is on the backs of the police when they are on patrol, let's see how quick he is hiding behind the real officers, they take their own life in their hands each and every shift that they work. Let him see what is like maybe he will change his tune.

    1. If the ‘Greats exercise their minds’ he should practice what he preaches - unless he knows he is not one of them. Put on ‘The Blue’ for a week - you have the time & funds to survive the minuscule pay difference & will have plenty of time to practice - if your brothers let you survive.

    2. Let him do a ride along. That in itself may be very dangerous these days. I think that would give him some good perspective.

  4. James won't change his mind. He's just another spoiled rich person. If he was being attacked he would be crying for the police to shoot the attacker. He needs to remember, he is just a guy who plays a child's game and is grossly over paid. And unfortunately kids seem him as a hero. Only in america.

    1. It is not only the kids that treat these self entitled arrogant buffoons as heros. The adults are just as bad if not worse. More than not the kids just follow the actions of the adults. It is the adults that are actually responsible for the rediculous over blown status of these as spoiled brats.

  5. This man never went to college, graduated high school and played basketball for his whole life and now he’s a political asset to no one but himself

  6. Can't wait for the day that punk gets attacked when his security is somewhere else.........wonder who he'll call!?

  7. He's a great bball player, that doesn't mean he's intelligent, got common sense or knows a damn thing about policing. What's worse is all the space and time the idiot media give him to expound on his bs!

  8. And why does the opinions of these entertainers / sports figures matter. Why does the media keep living them a platform and bull horn to spew their BS.

  9. Come On LeBron show how really tough you are and publically have a discussion with this fine police officer! I am betting you do how have the courage to do just that!!!!

  10. Ms james is now a knowitall celebrity with NO credibility at all. I would like to see this asshole work a night shift as a cop. He would be a scared assed PUNK!!!

  11. Dude should be known as QUEEN James!!! Bow down to his Chinese puppet masters… the real KING of basketball is and always will be mister Mike Jordan! Finals record 6-0 what’s the QUEENS record?! I think he’s won 3 or 4 out of ten try’s, he’s a clown 🤡 Watching him on the mambas court make me a little sic every time I see it. Pay these bums a kings ransom and they can’t even make two free throws in the clutch. Lebrick James is a total fraud woke wanna be. Rape the earth for your Chinese rare earth minerals for a car battery and tell us how bad gas is… fly by yourself on a private jet like the rest of the John Kerry big shots and tell everyone els just stay at home.🤮🤡👎

  12. Our police and any law enforcement need our support!! These athletes or "over paid kids" think they're to be Idolized but then they need to Earn that respect! Not by bashing our police or being truly idiots towards issues. They DON'T have my respect for their stupidity. They may do things for their community but truth be told it's ONLY for their edification!!

  13. Le BRON IS A SAD EXCUSE FOR A REAL MAN. HE WILL NEVER SIT IN A POLICE CAR. FIRST OFF HE WOULD HAVE TO WEAR ATTENDS.
THIS BIG MOUTH HAS NEVER DONE A REAL JOB IN HIS ENTIRE LIVE. JUST PLAYED BALL,
IF ANYONE HAD TO WALK IN A POLICE MENS SHOES THERE WOULD BE NO ABOLISH THE POLICE. THE SAME FOOLS WOULD BE THE FIRST TO CRY FOR HELP. LeBRON IS A IMBECILE, HAS NO EDUCATION NO BRAIN. WHY DO DECENT AMERICANS SPEND MONEY TO WATCH THIS GUY DRIPPLE A BALL HE HAS NO BALLS AT ALL.

  14. James thinks he is smarter then the Police with his basketball and money, he only went to high school but the ball & money makes him smarter. I support all police & sure glad we have them. thank you for your service. Jameys you know funny I have got a lot tickets from them & deserved them. You know when you do wrong.James take that officer up on that you just mite learn some thing.

  15. Officer Deon Joseph became someone I believe to be a honest and decent human being. He makes logical statements of important issues. If you have not followed Officer Joseph, you should do so.
