Cpl. Jeff Shirley is a school resource officer in Jonesboro, Arkansas. On his way to work each day, he would see the same boy walking three miles to and from school.
Shirley offered the boy a ride, and soon learned that Zander needed help. It's his job to make a difference, so Shirley reached out when he saw that Zander needed help.
Shirley says it's important to build connections with the students, and that police are human too. Thanks to Shirley, Zander now has a safe way to get to and from school each day.
What started as a simple act of kindness has made a world of difference for Zander. Thanks to Cpl. Jeff Shirley, he now has a safe way to get to and from school each day.
We could all learn a lesson from Shirley's selfless act - it's the small things that can make a big difference in someone else's life. Thank you, Jeff Shirley, for making a difference one ride at a time!
