Honestly speaking. The video was unclear to me. I didn't see a gun, hands raised, or hands in pocket either.
Honestly, that was part of the point. These Officer Involved Shootings are often incredibly difficult to determine.
Why was a 13 year old, with a gun possibly, with a 21 year old, out running the streets at 2:30 in the morning? Why would his parents allow that? Maybe THEY should be charged!
Dumb dumb people who think that parents must know where their kids are at 2:30 am - most are asleep and the kid has long been asleep too...HOWEVER to also be aware that 13 year olds are well kown to sneak out after everyone has gone to sleep. The kid did it probably without parents knowing...I wonder why in a case like this did the police have to shoot in the chest why not in the leg (but then too I understand they were both running - bouncing up and down). The most aggravating part is not because of the case, the police or the kid but the language of the guy broadcasting...what kind of "professionalism" is HIS language supposed to be??? WAY TOO MUCH foul language by media is very disgusting- and EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE!!! Grow up and BE the kind of "professional" that we are constantly being told media people are...I was a journalism student in college & NO WHERE were we supposed to use foul language in reporting incidents!!!
Again, this could have all been prevented had the little thug STOPPED when the officer commanded him to do so. If you’re not guilty and you have nothing to hide, you will stop. I don’t feel one bit sorry for these criminal punks if they get shot and die - it’s their own fault.
Barbara, I put a lot of the blame on the parents...they probably haven't taught his to respect police or anyone else. I hope if the kid had siblings that they learned something from this as well as the parents. The parents had a lot to do with this...not saying they are totally at fault because the kid made a choice and knew he was doing something wrong or he would not have run. Did the parents put the fear of police in his mind??? That's not right either...then we don't know the entire "story".

All I can say is..........If you don't want to get shot......then when you are told to STOP by the police, PUT YOUR HANDS UP, and COMPLY.............DO IT...........No use being an idiot when it comes to living or not-living..........

As usual you are spot on! But public does NOT want to look at facts. The officer acted appropriately in ‘real’ time. No one can second guess what happens at ANY scene be it a dog bite or a stabbing or a shooting. It is not possible!
