Police activists argue that social workers, not Law Enforcement should handle traffic stops. However, these interactions between Officers and civilians tend to be among the violent and unpredictable encounters.
In this case, Salinas Police Officer Jorge David Alvarado was fatally shot while conducting a routine traffic stop, though he fought until the end. His heroic self-sacrifice made the arrest of the gunman possible.

I’m personally sick and tired of our law enforcement being put down and having their hands tied behind their backs ! This young man sacrificed his life for a POS traffic stop, why aren’t these activist crying about the criminals on the street ! The Police Officers in the USA are constantly under attack anymore and it is absolutely sickening , they don’t have to do anything and some ass wants to hang them . Another American tragedy. A law enforcement officer has paid the ultimate price for trying to make our country a safe place to live. WAKE up America, speak out and tell our representatives that enough is enough. Don't just sit there and shake your head and say how sad.it is. Speak up and tell them you want a safe America.
