WATCH: Knife-Wielding Suspect Charges Cop

When an suspect charges cops with a knife, there's only one reasonable outcome: the officer is forced to shoot. At the end of the day, the suspect has chosen to perpetrate an extremely violent attack on an officer of the law. What else might this person do? Who else could get hurt? Not to mention, the officer themselves have the right to self defense.

  1. The officer did everything he could...I’m glad he’s going home at the end of his watch. Obviously the suspect wasn’t black or this would have been all over the news.

  2. In my humble opinion, it was a tactical error for the Officer to separate himself from his patrol unit which contained safety-sensitive items. I think it was an unconscious error which allowed the Officer's 4 or 5 initial steps to be exploited by predatory criminal who has quite likely been "given some game" by an older or more experienced person, maybe an "OG" of sorts. I do believe that the potential for other LEOs to make that same tactical error is sufficient to warrant a RETRAINING supplement for all officers in the Nashville area. I lived there a long time ago, and I actually recognize the exact location where this occurred. Other than the tactical error, which if not made, would not have, In My Humble Opinion, changed the eventual outcome of this incident. That kind of stupid criminality is deep-seated, and has no self-restraint or brakes. The Officer made every effort to provide a different opportunity FOR A DIFFERENT OUTCOME, but STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES was a saying made for criminals such as the one who in essence BEGGED this officer to deploy his sidearm. TO THE OFFICER: GOOD JOB SIR. I'M GLAD YOU EMERGED FROM THE INCIDENT WITHOUT A PHYSICAL SCRATCH. THE MINOR BUT IMPORTANT TACTICAL ERROR IS ADDRESSABLE WITH A BRIEF RE-TRAINING UPDATE, In My Humble Opinion. Thank You For Your Service, and Your Adherence to Your Oath. Be Safe and Be Well.

    1. THE ONE THING Robert doesn't know - nor do we - is if there was another person in the vehicle that could have/should have locked the doors...possible - BUT then there ALL KINDS of "what ifs" in ANY scenario of many kinds.
I say GREAT WORK OFFICER...no one else got hurt - any maybe the perks entire reason was "death by cop"...don't know

  3. The officer was in the right to take deadly force, he had no other choice. The person was armed with a gun and pointing it at the officer.

  4. If the officer had purpose to remain in the car, he may have been killed or injured and there would not have been an opportunity for the officer to at least warn or de escalate the action of the knife welding man. I agree with the officer’s decision.

  5. Officer was totally justified in shooting but should have locked the car after leaving it to deny access to officer's weapons in the car. Always keep a spare car key in your pocket.

    1. Not necessarily a car key but a FOB to turn off / on vehicle and/or lock / unlock it. It would have definitely come in handy with this encounter.

  6. I'm weary. Society is in the toilet, each and every day now. No improvement is seen for the future. When will the good people prevail?

  7. The officer was TOTALLY & COMPLETELY justified in shooting the suspect whose aggressive manner most certainly could well have given a different (and negative) result -- in short, this is a case of "me vs. him," cop vs. suspect. A knife can bring the same result as a gun, esp. in close quarters, so the officer did the right thing in keeping the suspect at bay. My question is: Why are we seeing so many wrongdoers who willfully ignore a police officer's commands to drop their weapon, stop their attack? Do they no longer respect the authority of our police force? Are they so crazed by drugs, other things they ingest they are not thinking logically at all anymore? I believe it is BOTH of these things, mainly the types of drugs out there that give these lunatics a false sense of invincibility, plus an ingrained disdain for the law, law enforcement in general. When the cops aren't allowed to stop the likes of this perp, we are all in trouble...

  8. This shooting was justified . As usual , if this tree swinger would NOT have charged at the police , this would have NEVER happened !!! Now , his family , waterheads Sharpton and Jackson will be looking foe a money settlement !!

  9. Officer was totally justified he had to neutralize the situation. He gave the suspect alot of time to stop running around the suspects decision to charge the officer was a decision that. Caused his demise the officer was more than patient.

  10. The Policeman was justified in shooting . . . . .I'll bend it as far as I can: could the officer have shot the bad guy in one or both legs ?

    1. The officer didn't know whether the man had a gun and may have shot him if he had shot him in the legs. When someone is threatening to kill you, and that was what the man was doing, coming at him with a knife, he had every right to do whatever he had to do to protect himself. If the thug was shot in the leg and he had a gun, he could have shot the officer and killed him. If someone comes at me with a knife, threatening to kill me and I have a gun, they will be laying on the ground with bullet holes in them, because I would empty my gun into them if that was what it takes to stop them.

  11. 100% justified use of deadly force. The subject was armed and moving aggressively towards the P.O. he ignored all commands and continued to press the attack. Absolutely no question a " good shooting".

  12. The Left are destroying our Country each and everyday with there Lag of Respect for or Constitution and Flag, so many Died for. They have the Justice system in there Pocket, and even our top Law enforcement leadership are in there Pockets. Obama, and Hillary are Proof of that.

  13. I do agree with all the ideas you've presented in your post. They are very convincing and will certainly work. Still, the posts are very short for novices. Could you please extend them a little from next time? Thanks for the post.

  14. I抣l right away grab your rss feed as I can not find your email subscription link or newsletter service. Do you've any? Please let me know so that I could subscribe. Thanks.

  15. Thanks for another informative website. Where else could I get that kind of information written in such a perfect way? I've a project that I am just now working on, and I have been on the look out for such info.

  16. That is the suitable weblog for anybody who wants to find out about this topic. You understand a lot its nearly laborious to argue with you (not that I truly would need匟aHa). You undoubtedly put a new spin on a topic thats been written about for years. Nice stuff, simply great!

  17. I don't quite understand why they don't shoot them in the upper legs - or are they too hard to get when perp is running? But then if they merely "wound" the perp, they may be sued too...who knows...the message certainly is DO NOT RUN AT, THREATEN OR APPEAR TO DO EITHER WITH A COP!!~!
